Annie Corbett's

Digital Portfolio

LSU - ELRC 7525

My name is Annie Corbett, an MA in Educational Technology graduate from Louisiana State University. My entry into Higher Education took a circuitous path. In 2001, I founded and managed a non-profit therapeutic residential program for marginalized foster youth, during which I obtained my Master’s degree in Business Administration (2012) and my Ph.D. in Psychology with an emphasis in Transformative Social Change (2017).

I closed the agency in August 2018, and after taking a year off, entered the incredible and amazing world of academia as an adjunct faculty member teaching Psychology at the San Mateo Community College District. I began teaching General Psychology for dual-credit at Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, and quickly began teaching more classes in-person and online (Statistics, Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology).

I soaked up all the knowledge I could and teaching, enrolling in the Quality Matters (QM) “Teaching Online Certificate” and completing that in October 2020. Soon after, I converted the QM courses into nine units at LSU and now I am graduating!

With my experience in combination with the learning outcomes of this degree, I can specialize in cutting-edge areas including technology integration, digital transformation, technology-enabled academic innovation, instructional technology, online education, and professional development. I am ideally suited for identifying best practices for the technology deployment of Open Educational Resources (OER) and Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) learning materials.

I am a long-term fanatic and lover of technology. I embraced technology in my early college years and have strived to stay current in many areas. My love for technology and education merged beautifully in the M.A. Program at LSU and I cannot wait to use my new tools in my new full-time position at Northeast Community College, Norfolk, NE.

Purpose

The purpose of my ePortfolio is to express my skills and abilities in a way that cannot be expressed through typical resumes and job boards. It will showcase what I have learned and accomplished over the course of my academic and educational career and how I can be an asset in a position in higher education.
